It all sounded so cool.
This June, I, along with 3 other interns, were invited to devolep a youth-driven Web site for Delawareonline.
My fellow interns and I did market research, scouted the competition, and developed a new way of delivering news that we felt would really click with the media savvy youth of America.
But instead of providing us with an outlet on testing every theory I have every had with young people and news, I got a lesson in the bureaucracy of corporate America.
Bottom line: no Web site.

Keep your head up. Few people write honestly about the process, and I’m guessing many would love to hear about it and, more important, learn from it.

Nicely done site–I just discovered it via one of my Google Alerts. Are you as obsessed with Trebuchet as I am? I’ve set it as my default font on Word, in place of TNR.
I hope despite the initial confusion about your internship, you’ll have your name on some neat, sophisticated work by the end of the summer.
