I was the author of the blog College v2 for eight months. College v2 catered to to college students offering tech and lifestyle advice. I sold the blog to Sevenseek media in October of 2006 with over 175 subscribers and 1,000 unique visitors daily. College v2 was linked to on several popular sites such as digg.com and lifehacker.com. My blog posts on College v2:
- February 2006
- March 2006
- April 2006
- May 2006
- June 2006
- July 2006
- August 2006
- September 2006
- October 2006
College v2 was my first experiment in new media and in blogging and also my most successful. I was able to earn a small monthly income as well as learn the ins-and-outs of the blogosphere. I can safely say that I learned more from this project than I have in four years at school.
The design of College v2 you see above is the third version, with the first being a modified Blix template, and the second being a short lived hand coded template. The design was a Photoshop mockup I did and passed off to Joseph Casabona, a talented designer and programmer who I recommend without hesitation. See his notes on the design on his blog.
