Broad & Cecil (a reference to the streets that are considered the “front” of Temple University) is the blog of The Temple News. Meant as an accompaniment to Temple-News.com, the blog features our multimedia and our updates that may not be worthy of a full article, but are worth pointing out to our readers.
After a strong initial advertising campaign, the traffic of the blog has been steadily climbing to roughly 500 hits a day when school is in session. The entire staff and some writers are invited to contribute, and the content is added two to three times daily.
The site is a modified version of PressRow by Chris Pearson. The masthead was created by a designer at the paper and the banner was photoshopped by myself. All modifications where done with a few simple HTML edits.
More information about the thought process as well as hurdles faced can be read in a past blog post I have written at Broad & Cecil.
